Policy, Planning and Analytics Division

Accountabilities:

  • Ensures the advancement of effective and evidence-based HR policy for the public service, inclusive of researching, developing, interpreting, monitoring and evaluating HR policies and programs and advancing an HR policy agenda, for approval by Treasury Board.
  • Engages in workforce planning to identify and respond to emerging trends and to ensure quality improvement initiatives.
  • Develops and maintains HR metrics to inform and support HRS and corporate HR planning and decision making, as well as Deputy Minister Performance Contracts.
  • Provides HR analysis related to Cabinet, Treasury Board or budget submissions that may impact human resource programs and services.
  • Maintains responsibility for the Treasury Board support and information management functions within the HRS, as well as HR business planning, annual report preparation, ‘Business Continuity Planning’, and coordinating HRS’ responses to requests in accordance with the Access to Information and Protection of Privacy Act (ATIPPA).
  • Facilitates business process improvements, employing LEAN principles.
