Research

The Rural Secretariat works to ensure that advice developed and submitted to government by Councils is underpinned by research. It does this by assisting Councils to identify existing research results related to their particular Council priority areas. It also supports Councils and other stakeholders to develop participatory or community-based research initiatives: typically small regional- level data-gathering efforts that provide information and knowledge needed to effectively advise government on regional and rural policy matters.
