Translation Services
The Office of French Services (OFS) is the sole provider of translation services for the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador. Its Translation Services Policy (PDF) ensures that quality translation services are available to all departments and agencies within the provincial government.

Various types of documents have been translated by the office including regulations and acts, community health materials, forms and applications, reports, notices, correspondence, educational, legal and promotional information as well as web pages.

The OFS also helps departments determine best practices and cost-saving measures and advises on ways to best present information in bilingual format.

Linguistic Support
The Office of French Services provides information and guidance to provincial government departments and agencies on the use of the French language in day to day work situations.

This service includes helping government departments handle written correspondence and telephone requests or plan meetings and conferences in French. We encourage departments to forward any requests received in French to the OFS so that we may be able to help you serve your clientele.

The OFS is also available to assist departments interested in developing more website content in French.
