Classification and Compensation Division

Services

The Classification and Compensation Division is responsible for:

  • Providing professional job evaluation and salary management services to the Treasury Board Committee of Cabinet, the Public Service Secretariat, and the Newfoundland and Labrador public sector with the aim of ensuring fair, equitable and consistent compensation of public sector employees employed in government departments, government funded agencies, health care sector and education sectors;
  • Formulating compensation policy options and recommendations to the Treasury Board;
  • Developing and managing job evaluation programs and systems;
  • Providing professional consultative and training services;
  • Providing analysis of and recommendations to the Treasury Board Committee of Cabinet on submissions from departments/agencies concerning classification and compensation issues;
  • Developing and implementing appropriate monitoring and compliance of job evaluation processes.
