Overview

Executive Council is responsible for the overall operations of the public service of the province, decision-making, planning, formulation of policy and the general development of the province and all its resources.

Executive Council consists of Cabinet Secretariat, Intergovernmental Affairs Secretariat, Public Service  Secretariat and Women's Policy Office, Rural Secretariat, and Communications Branch.

Cabinet Secretariat includes Economic Policy and Social Policy

Intergovernmental Affairs Secretariat includes Social and Fiscal Policy; Resource and Economic Policy; Regional Development Programs; and Constitutional Affairs.

The Public Service Secretariat has two branches; the Labour Relations and Classificaton Branch (Collective Bargaining Division and the Classification Organization and Management Division) and the Human Resources Branch (Human Resource Policy and Planning Division and the Human Resource Development Division).

Grants are also provided for the Provincial Advisory Council on the Status of Women and the Advisory Council on the Economy.
